Job Summary: The Manufacturing Compliance Data Specialist ensures that all cannabis inventory and data tracking systems align with state and federal regulatory requirements. This role focuses on maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking systematic product creation from raw materials to finished product, and ensuring all compliance-related data is meticulously tracked and reported. The specialist will also manage lab testing submissions, handle ERP system data for product creation, and maintain communication with regulatory bodies and internal departments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure that all cannabis inventory processes comply with state and federal regulations, particularly regarding inventory management and reporting.
    • Stay updated on cannabis regulations and adjust inventory and data practices to maintain compliance with legal standards.
    • Conduct periodic audits of data and inventory records to ensure accuracy and full regulatory compliance.
  • Tracking and Reporting:
    • Track all product movement from raw materials, production, storage, and distribution, ensuring compliance with track-and-trace systems (e.g., METRC/BIO-TRACK).
    • Maintain detailed records of product creation, inventory movement, and waste, ensuring these records meet regulatory standards.
    • Prepare and submit required compliance reports, including production and inventory data, to regulatory authorities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Production Records:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital production records, including batch records, ingredient logs, packaging information, and inventory movement.
    • Work closely with production teams and manufacturing compliance specialists to ensure systematic product creation is properly documented and compliant with all state regulations.
  • Lab Testing Submissions:
    • Manage the process for submitting product samples to accredited labs for required testing (potency, contaminants, etc.).
    • Track lab testing results, ensuring that products meet regulatory requirements before release for distribution.
    • Document lab testing data in ERP and compliance systems, and communicate results to internal teams and external regulatory agencies.
  • Systematic Product Creation:
    • Oversee the product creation process, ensuring each step-from formulation to packaging-follows compliance guidelines.
    • Ensure that product recipes, production methods, and packaging are accurately recorded and accessible within ERP and compliance systems.
  • Communication and Liaison:
    • Serve as the primary contact for communication with regulatory bodies regarding inventory data, lab testing, and product creation compliance.
    • Collaborate with internal departments such as production, quality assurance, and distribution to ensure all compliance requirements are met.
    • Communicate changes in inventory and lab testing regulations to relevant teams and update processes accordingly.
  • ERP System Management:
    • Maintain ERP software for tracking all inventory, product creation, and compliance data.
    • Train staff on ERP system usage, ensuring accurate data entry and retrieval for compliance reporting.
    • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure ERP systems align with operational needs and compliance reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: HS Diploma, GED, or bachelor's degree in compliance, statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a compliance, inventory management, or data-focused role, ideally within cannabis or another regulated industry (e.g., pharma, banking).
    • Experience with cannabis track-and-trace systems (e.g., METRC, Bio-Track) and ERP software for inventory and data management.
    • Familiarity with state cannabis regulations, particularly with an understanding of lab testing requirements and seed-to-sale tracking.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records across all phases of inventory and production.
    • Excellent analytical and data management skills, with proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal teams and regulatory bodies.
    • Problem-solving abilities to resolve data, inventory, and compliance-related issues effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
