Job Summary: The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day security operations at multiple facilities. This role ensures the protection of company assets, employees, and visitors, while maintaining strict adherence to security policies and protocols. As the lead in a supervisory capacity, the Security Supervisor will manage security staff, provide training, and ensure high standards of performance. This role will also serve as a key contact for escalated security issues, emergency response, and collaboration with law enforcement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the security team, including both armed and unarmed officers, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assist the Regional Security Manager in developing and implementing security protocols, policies, and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for security personnel and provide ongoing coaching and training.
  • Ensure adequate shift coverage and manage security personnel scheduling.
  • Oversee security operations during all shifts, including weekends and nights when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated security issues, coordinating responses and ensuring swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Security Manager to assess security risks and vulnerabilities, making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Conduct regular security audits, inspections, and drills to ensure the safety and security of all personnel and assets.
  • Monitor and manage security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Lead emergency response efforts, coordinating with law enforcement, fire, and other emergency services when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and all applicable safety and security regulations.
  • Report all security incidents, prepare detailed incident reports, and track trends for continuous improvement.
  • Provide security training to staff on new protocols, equipment, and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have a valid PERC card and FOID card (REQUIRED).
  • Must own a registered firearm.
  • Completion of a 20-hour unarmed and 20-hour armed security training.
  • Must possess an Original Firearm Training Certificate issued by IDFPR and have completed a re-qualification within the past 12 months.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and motivate.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Proficiency with security technologies, including CCTV, access control systems, and incident reporting software.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with internal teams and external law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of relevant security and safety regulations (OSHA, GMP).
  • Experience with de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in security, including 1+ years in a supervisory role managing a large team of security personnel.
  • Previous experience in a high-security environment such as cannabis, military, law enforcement, or high-value assets.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR and de-escalation techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with scheduling, shift management, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Military or law enforcement experience is a strong advantage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of working in varied environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme weather.
  • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and be on-call for emergencies.

Schedule/Availability

  • Day Shift: 3 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 days on, 3 days off.
    • Shifts run from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
