Job Summary:
The Facility Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across the facility. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment, as well as assisting with various facility maintenance duties as required. The Facility Sanitation Associate plays a key role in ensuring compliance with sanitation protocols, maintaining equipment, and contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of facility areas, including floors, bathrooms, and common spaces, following established sanitation procedures.
- Conduct routine janitorial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Assist with deep cleaning tasks, including cleaning ceiling vents, light fixtures, walls, and other hard-to-reach areas.
- Prepare areas for cleaning by moving or covering furniture, equipment, and other items as needed.
- Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals, solutions, and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety regulations to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Collaborate with other departments to assist with additional cleaning or maintenance tasks as required.
- Complete sanitation logs and documentation to track cleaning activities and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Report any facility or equipment issues to the Facilities Maintenance Manager for prompt resolution.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that require continuous movement.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards.
- Punctuality and reliability in attendance and task completion.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation protocols and janitorial practices.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial work, or facility maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with the safe use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to use cleaning solutions and properly and safely use brooms, unload trash cans, and other cleaning supplies and tools.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Frequent walking and standing in a warehouse environment.
- Capability to operate heavy machinery such as floor scrubber safely and efficiently.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and other manufacturing conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be physically capable of sitting or standing for long periods or entire shifts.
Work Schedule (Non-Exempt):
This position is scheduled on a full-time basis. Specific shift times and workdays are determined by the operation and may vary by location. Business needs may require work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overtime. Scheduled start and end times, assigned shifts, and workdays are subject to change based on staffing and operational requirements. Whenever feasible, advance notice of schedule changes will be provided.
